A Word For Living – Rin Tin Tin

rin-tin-tin-german-shephard-photoRin Tin Tin was a favorite television show of children during the mid to late 1950′s. I still remember the “Yooooo Rinty” as Rusty, the orphaned child being raised on a frontier military outpost, would send his faithful companion into the fray against some lawless brigand. What most don’t know is that the two dogs which primarily played Rin Tin Tin were direct descendants of the famous original Rin Tin Tin, the pup discovered in a bombed out kennel in France by Corporal Lee Duncan. The original Rinty went on to star in silent movies and begin a line which is carefully guarded and protected to this day with Rin Tin Tin X continuing the historic breed’s linage. Few could have imagined the legacy that pup would leave that day in 1918 as Corporal Duncan pulled him from the devastation. God seems to delight in taking men from inauspicious lineages and giving them an extra measure of His Spirit. Time and again He has raised up men who the world would not have given a second look apart from His hand upon their lives, to turn the hearts of men toward God. I’m praying that such a man will arise in communities across America. A man upon whom the Spirit of God rests so vibrantly that Believers are drawn into a closer relationship with their Savior and unbelievers are awakened from their death sleep to cry out for God’s mercy on them. Perhaps even now, there are those attending faithfully to their menial tasks, or going about routine daily activities upon whom God’s Holy Spirit will fall. Whenever God has raised up such men, there seems to have been a recognition of need on the part of genuine Believers, and a heartfelt cry for deliverance. Oh, that today we, who name His name, might lift our hearts to Almighty God in just such a cry for deliverance. Please join me in asking God to do something which can only be explained by the supernatural moving of His Holy Spirit in this land.
