We hope to have the Adult Sunday School class re-located from the Auditorium by March 8. The wall might not be erected yet, but everything will be in place. A pew has been moved into the area to facilitate those who have trouble sitting on the hard chairs.
Bro. Tommy Hammack, Chm.; Bro. Mike Seymour; and Bro. Jack Newell of the Property & Grounds Committee are trying to set up a work day. Following are some needs: (1) The acoustic ceiling in the nursery and other sections of the education building need replacing. (2) Paneling or wall board need work in hall of education building. (3) Wall needs to be built in old kitchen area. (4) Walls need be treated for mildew in fellowship hall. (5) General outside Spring Cleaning (Spring is on the way isn’t it?)
The Property and grounds committee is also working on a proposal for the construction of the sound booth in the rear of the auditorium. They will have something to present to the church in short order.
Bouquets of Appreciation go to Donna Puckett and Edie Seymour for all they have done in moving and arranging the nursery.
Each Sunday, children in the fifth grade and below will have opportunity to earn Bay Springs Baptist Bucks. They earn “Bucks” by: (1) Coming to Sunday School. (2) Bringing a Bible. (3) Attending Worship. (4) Doing Random Acts of Kindness. (5) Listening to lessons and sermons and answering questions. (6) Other things teachers might decide. The Bay Springs Baptist Bucks can only be spent at the Bay Springs Baptist Children’s Store which will be open the third Sunday of each month after Church. An assortment of items is designed to encourage children to look forward to attending church. Parents/Grandparents will help the children learn responsibility as they teach them how to save the dollars they earn, and remind them of the day the store is open. This can be a valuable resource for teaching these children life skills at an early age.
Sunday Morning March 1, I will be preaching on the subject, “What Does The Second Coming Mean To You?” from 2 Peter Chapter 3.
Sunday Evening March 8, we will show the Movie “Flywheel” during the even worship time. Flywheel is the original dramatic movie which launched the ministry which produced “Facing The Giants” and “Fireproof.” I pray you’ll plan now to bring someone with you to see this dynamic presentation of Biblical Principles set forth in an extremely entertaining way.
Brother Scott Wiggins is doing an excellent job of leading us in musical worship, and Mrs. Rose Clifton’s accompaniment compliments that ministry very well. Bro. Scott and I are searching for 3-4 people who will be trained to operate the sound equipment. If you have any interest in serving in such a capacity even on a part time basis please let us know ASAP. We are also seeking 4-5 people to serve in a Praise Team. Many of you can sing well, but you’ve not yet put yourself forward saying you’d be willing to serve. Why don’t you do that this week?
Be sure to check out the web site at http://www.bayspringsbaptist.org. Bro. Scott and I try to keep it updated, and it will be a continuing source for information about BSBC.
God bless you and I look forward to seeing you Sunday Morning as you come with a heart to hear the message God is burning into my heart.
I am…
