Perspective
Posted on May 7, 2009 | No CommentsIt can be a great encouragement to know that God is trustworthy and that He is simply looking at our situation from a different perspective. He is still in charge. He is still on His throne, but His ways are so much higher than our ways. Let’s just trust Him to do what is best in every situation. -
God Never Sleeps
Posted on May 1, 2009 | No CommentsGod is often working behind the scenes to bless and protect His people. I’m amazed at the times we become so pre-occupied with our predicaments that we lose sight of the fact that God is on our side. Just because He is not bringing about cataclysmic events to show Himself in charge, we can be sure that He is. -
Beware The False Experience
Posted on April 29, 2009 | No CommentsTo kneel at the Cross of Christ is to die to self in such a way that the overriding desire of my life is to live for Him. When that happens the frustrations, fears, and hurts of the world cannot dissuade me from the faithful accomplishment of His plan for my life. -
Be Faithful
Posted on April 27, 2009 | No CommentsIsn’t it great to know that God will use His Word to change lives. He really doesn’t need us. He has chosen us, chosen to use us. But He can raise up dry bones to do His bidding, so He really doesn’t need us. But isn’t it great to know that God uses the efforts of His faithful to advance His Kingdom? -
Your “Great” Testimony
Posted on April 24, 2009 | No CommentsYour simple story of how Christ gladly receives you and allows you to begin again is a bright ray of hope in the otherwise dark and dreary existence of many caught up in this world’s system. Look for opportunities to share what God has done and continues to do in your life. -
For Every Reaction, A Consequence
Posted on April 23, 2009 | No CommentsSometimes we act without thought to the long term consequences of our actions. Scripture teaches that self-control is a normal attribute of the Spirit-Controlled life. -
The Right End of Tribulations
Posted on April 20, 2009 | No CommentsIf you’re about to “give up”, if you’ve reached the point where you just want to shuck it all and head to the great unknown, remember...perseverance builds “character” within us. The character of a Believer is not based upon the empty promises of failed life structures. It is built upon the Love of God which has been poured out in our hearts by His Holy Spirit. -
A Word For Living – On Being Successful
Posted on April 16, 2009 | No CommentsBurt Lancaster, Chuck Conners, and Ronald Reagan share a trait necessary for success in today’s world. They were willing to walk away from that which they had chosen as their life’s work to pursue a new career. -
A Word For Living – Try A Little Kindness
Posted on April 14, 2009 | No CommentsIn the late 1960's and early 1970's my wife, Diane, and I lived in Yuma...as we traveled for hours without meeting another human being, we began to understand and appreciate our dependence upon one another. -
A Word For Living – Diaphanous Believers
Posted on April 7, 2009 | No CommentsThe word “diaphanous” (dye-AF-uh-nus), according to the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary, means primarily to be of so fine a texture as to be transparent. It occurs to me that we, who claim the name of Christ, should be “diaphanous” as His light shines through us.
