Truths From Job’s Experience
Posted on August 3, 2009 | No CommentsJob was deprived of everything that man depends on for help, strength, and security. The widely recognized richest man in the world lost everything except his faith in the God of Heaven. His was an intense pain, and he could not understand why God allowed the righteous to be so afflicted. -
Knowing God’s Will
Posted on July 28, 2009 | No CommentsShould you and I not be walking close with Christ, the leadership and direction of the Holy Ghost will often be missed; and we will find ourselves on paths of heartache, fear, anxiety, and defeat. How, then, can we know if we are listening to, and following His direction? -
Alexander Mackenzie
Posted on July 22, 2009 | No CommentsTwo hundred sixteen years ago Alexander Mackenzie wrote his name and the date on a boulder overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The important role Mackenzie played in the exploration and settlement of the West will never be fully known, and he is largely lost from the rich lore of those amazing times. Several things stand out about Mackenzie which I think could serve as an encouragement for today. -
Altruism
Posted on July 15, 2009 | No CommentsSingle word descriptions of Christianity are difficult. Few adjectives accurately describe the walk of faith exemplified by the follower of Christ. However the word “altruistic” probably comes as close as any. The Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary defines “altruistic” as “the unselfish regard for or devotion to the welfare of others.” -
Antidote for Loneliness
Posted on July 14, 2009 | No CommentsIsn’t it amazing that we must often come to a sense of desperation before we cry out to Him? He doesn’t want us facing life’s battles dependent upon our own inadequate and limited resources. He wants us to enjoy to the security of His limitless bounty. -

Posted on June 9, 2009 | No CommentsNot everything that happens to us is a consequence of our deliberate wrong actions. Sometimes we just make bad decisions, or circumstances seem to conspire to bring us down. But we have a promise in 1 John 1:9.... -
Get Him Up
Posted on June 8, 2009 | No CommentsToday’s Post-Modern/Emergent church culture appears to seek to give people what they want in order to gain their loyalty to an organization, community, or purpose. But what the world needs in this age, as in all ages, is to meet Jesus. People still are drawn to Jesus. Where ever He is, people will come. -

Choices We Make
Posted on June 3, 2009 | No CommentsIt is obvious to me that Bob Feller was driven by something more important than personal acclaim, self-promotion, or mindless ambition. If such a man could look back on his life and feel confident that he had chosen the best path, then think about how it is for the man who chooses to give up this world’s pleasures for the eternal rewards of selfless service to Holy God. -
Mercy Trumps Wrong
Posted on June 1, 2009 | No CommentsIf you’ve already received God’s mercy through salvation, then it is important that you demonstrate mercy to others so that God will be merciful to you for the sins you commit after salvation. This is why we seek no retribution when we are wronged by others.
